Meet Dr. Michaelian
Marshall J. Michaelian, DMD, was born and raised in the Bay Area. He attended Burlingame High School and then received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He received his dental degree in 1999 from Temple University, and in 2001, his endodontics degree from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. In 2002, he received from the University of Southern California, his Conscious Sedation License.
As a member of Menlo Church for many years, Marshall has volunteered during Compassion Weekend: A weekend where he is part of an extensive dental team providing free dental care at the Samaritan House in Redwood City. In 2016, he was acknowledged for his years of service for CCMP with a Volunteer of the Month Acknowledgment Award.
Marshall and his wife Francia, are raising their three daughters Sara, Emily, Ellie and their doggies Max and Anina. They enjoy family activities and traveling.
Marshall is a member of the American Association of Endodontist, the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the San Mateo County Dental Society. From 2014-2016, he was president of the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine Endodontic Alumni Association. He is a candidate to become a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.

Dr. Marshall J. Michaelian was born in Walnut Creek and was raised in the Bay Area. He attended Burlingame High School. He received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He received his D.M.D degree in 1999 from Temple University. He went on to Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he received his CAGS in Endodontics in 2001. He was taught by the world-renown Dr. Herbert Schilder. In 2002 Dr. Michaelian received additional training from the University of Southern California, by Dr. Stanley Malamed that helped him attain his Conscious Sedation License. In 2004 Dr. Michaelian attended over 300 hours in Implant Dentistry taught by the esteemed Dr. Arun Garg, Dr. Carl Misch, Dr. Maurice Salama and others that included live surgical training workshops with hands-on cadaver specimens. Dr. Michaelian is a member of the American Association of Endodontist, the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the San Mateo County Dental Society where he served on the Board of Directors from 2002-2004 and the Santa Clara Dental Society. In 2007 Dr. Michaelian received his Fellow award from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. From 2014-2016, he was president of the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine Endodontic Alumni Association.
In the past, Dr. Michaelian volunteered at Sonrisas Community Dental Center, which provides dental care for low-income San Mateo Coastside residents. Each year, the Sonrisas dental team provided dental treatment to nearly 1,500 children and adults who might otherwise have gone without care. At Sonrisas he performs endodontic treatment to the local coastside community low-income residents.
As part of the network of specialists for the Coalition of Concerned Medical Professionals (CCMP), Dr. Michaelian has provided numerous free endodontic procedures to the low-income families in the Bay Area over the years. CCMP is an all-volunteer independent association of health care professionals that deliver comprehensive health care for the working poor. In March 2018, he was awarded the annual volunteer award from CCMP that recognized all of the years Dr. Michaelian has provided free endodontic care to low-income families in the Bay Area.
As a member of Menlo Church he has volunteered during Compassion Weekend over the past decade. This is a weekend where he is part of an extensive dental team that provides free dental care at the Samiritan House in Redwood City. He regularly volunteers with Mission Ministries where he builds homes and performs dental procedures to the Mexican community of Juarez, Mexico.
Dr. Michaelian has given over 100 lectures both national and international to general dentists and endodontists with topics ranging from Endodontic Diagnosis, Dental Trauma, Cleaning and Shaping, Restoration of the Endodontically Treated Tooth, and Endo-Implantology.
Dr. Michaelian and his wife Francia, are raising their three daughters Sara, Emily and Ellie. His interests include golfing, scuba diving, water and snow sports, yachting and travel.
